Hi, there are some, it depends on what dates you are looking for. Post the names, approximate dates and we might be able to help.

http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/chs/churches/claughton-christ%20church.html is the GenUKI page that tells you the overall information about the registers, specifically the types and dates of the original registers and where they are now.

The "obvious" place to look for the registers is FindMyPast http://www.findmypast.co.uk/articles/world-records/search-all-uk-records/special-collections/the-cheshire-collection If you go to the page for Cheshire marriages, things initially look bad - I tried to list marriages using "Claughton" in the parish and got nothing. However, a little working with CheshireBMD (which has the index for 1854-1949 - see http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/marrcov.php ) gave me a sample marriage to find and I was then able to interpret the FindMyPast screen. For the records in question, the parish is "Christ Church" and the Marriage Place is either "Claughton-Cum-Grange" or "Claughton Cum Grange" - you can enter both. And both names are used....  :(

In summary, it looks like FindMyPast has marriages from there covering 1854-1910.

NB - I believe the stupidities of the indexing are entirely down to FamilySearch, albeit I also believe the previous FindMyPast software did a better job of interpreting the stupidities.

Thanks for your replies.I'm interested in a marriage between a Benjamin "Mutch" and an Ann Jones which took place in 1858.Naturally perhaps I'm interested primarily in the Ann Jones as she is given in later Census entries as born in Holywell Flintshire in c 1828.

Hi, Russell, I found the marriage. It is listed as Christchurch in the Parish of Bidston. But as you know is actually the church in Claughton Cum Grange. 29th November 1858, Benjamin Much (that's the spelling on the Parish Register Entry) of full age, Bachelor, father Benjamin Much both Labourers. Anne Jones, full age, Spinster, father William Jones Gardner. Benjamin makes his mark, Ann signs. Witnesses, Joseph Much and Sophia (Looks like Dance) its a very faint copy.
Hope this helps
