EVANS - Cheddar
« on: Wednesday 29 October 14 21:47 GMT (UK) »
Can someone help me?!
I am trying to research my GGG Grandfather, Jesse Evans from Cheddar.
He was born sept 29 1799, bapt 6 jan 1800 and died 24th may 1866.
He was married to Olive (Hill) who was of a similar age.

I've found his baptism entry on freereg, which states his parents are Samuel and Mary, can anyone shed anymore light for me on those two?

Also, Jesse's son Richard my GG grandfather born approx 1832 and died in 1910.
He travelled to the USA during the gold rush but came home and was married in St Mary Redcliffe in Bristol to Sarah in 1868, on his marriage cert (which i have) states he is a widower but i can find no ref to his previous marraige. I cannot find him on the 1851 or 61 census records so he must f been over in AMerica at this time.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated
