COLEMAN in CLONDAGAD parish 1825 - 1845 era
« on: Friday 31 October 14 21:24 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for information on a Coleman family that was residing in the Clondagad Parish when son,  Martin,  was born.  He stated on his naturalization record that  he was born there on 15 March 1842.   On his Massachusetts, USA  marriage license in 1860 he listed his parents as being Michael Coleman and wife, Ann.   Various US census records show he could have been born btw 1838 and 1842.     He may have had a brother named John Coleman who was b June 1829.   They both stated on their naturalization records they were born in Co Clare although John did not list a parish.   John arrived in Sept 1853 via Canada.   Martin arrived in 1854 and came directly to Hamden Co, MA.  Another possible sibling is Bridget Coleman b  Feb 1840.   She and John Coleman lived in Springfield, Hampden Co, Massachusetts before moving to Warren Co, Iowa.   Bridget married John Seymore in Hampden Co MA 0n 24 Dec 1863.  She listed her parents as Michael and Hannah Coleman   Martin possibly had one of John's dgts residing with his family on the 1870 Hampden, Co MA census.

I hope that someone will recognize these COLEMANs and have some info to share on them.  This has been a long and difficult research.   The break through came today with Michael's and John's  naturalization records.

Regards,  Bettye
