Death of Maurice Edgar Little, Cambridge 1972.
« on: Thursday 06 November 14 13:10 GMT (UK) »
My uncle Maurice died in 1972 ...I have just received his death certificate, and he died of 'Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis'. (Ok, I looked that up)

My parents didn't know this - we had been out of touch since sometime after he married in 1950.
Having read the certificate more closely today, I see the informant was a Cyril Frederick Wright and his qualifications read as 'Causing the body to be cremated'.

Which, very unexpectedly, sounds as if Maurice was alone at the time.
Was he separated from wife Henrietta? (Betty).

He was an architect and university lecturer, and this is beginning to sound like a sad story.

Where can I find any more information? Nothing on Ancestry that I can find.
LITTLE - Lancs, Cheshire. Dumbarton, Dublin and Glasgow - and South Africa. Also Canada

PRICE, ALLEN, JONES, JACKSON - Gwersyllt and Wrexham

ANDREWS, DOWSE, MEMERY - Dublin, US, and Canada

Id be looking to see if he left a will, to see if and how he mentions Henrietta.

Thanks for replies.
Yes that is Henrietta.
And I already have the will and his money was left to her (will 1968, and no children) unless she had died  - in which case it was left to another woman and we have no idea who she was! However that didn't happen.

I have now found a Henrietta D Little in Camden in 1952 - were they separated, I wonder? May not be her of course.

And who was Cyril Frederick Wright?

And is there a Cambridge newspaper that might have a report?

And the place of death is his address.

They were listed together in 1952 in Hampstead.  (Reply 3)

As you have the address he was living electoral registers may show who else was living there at the time and afterwards

The death cert should give an address for Cyril Frederick Wright, he could have been a neighbour or friend.

Electoral registers won't give relationships but they do list those eligible to vote at a particular address.
