My father's a funeral director and has not registered a death on behalf of a member of the family.

according to the gov.uk website

Who can register the death

You can register the death if you’re:

    a relative
    someone present at the death
    an administrator from the hospital
the person making arrangements with the funeral directors

'causing the body' refers to the person who is making the funeral arrangements

Barbara Dixon's site at http://www.dixons.clara.co.uk/Certificates/deaths.htm#COL9 (Barbara is a retired Superintendent Registrar) states "Note that someone whose qualification is "causing the burial or cremation....." is NOT the undertaker. This is the person who is giving the instructions to the undertaker - or in the past - was doing the funeral arrangements themselves."

(Sorry have been busy with new grandson and hosp appointments)

I suppose after being in the RAF, Cyril Wright - (who is definitely no relation) could have turned his hand to practically anything!
But it does seem that Betty was there.

Hi,

I came across this thread whilst research my family history - my great grandfather was Henrietta Little's Uncle (Henrietta's mother Elizabeth Stavorinus (maiden name Knight) was the sister of my great grandfather Robert William Knight). I'm in the process of putting together a family tree on Ancestry.com and am trying to gather as much info as I can about my great grandfather's siblings. From what I gather Henrietta died in 1982, but I've only found that out on Ancestry. If anyone knows any general info about her or her three sisters it would be amazing to know.

Kind regards, Paul.

Hi Paul. If you send me an email a/d via messages, I will send you what I have on my uncle Maurice?
Sorry I can't do much more as I'm rather busy writing a novel...

I know very little about my aunt Henrietta (Betty) as unfortunately she didn't get on with my mother, and I didn't see my uncle (who I was very fond of) much after they married.

Hi Alison, When I got to messages > new message it says I'm not allowed to send messages (I guess because I'm new). If you message me on here I'm guessing I'll be able to reply? I've got a photo of Maurice I can send you as well that I've restored to remove all of the photo damage.

...it's this image (attached) that you've probably previously seen, but I've got rid of all the scratches and blobs.
