If you can't get to Cambridgeshire for the electoral registers, then the British Library has a virtually complete post WW2 set but they are in storage and take 48hours to be delivered to St Pancras.

Afraid I can't get anywhere at present. I live in South Oxfordshire.
Sorry I missed reply3, rosie99 - too many things coming in at once! I should have looked for Maurice as well there, obviously. Never knew they were in Hampstead.

Cyril's address is Thornton close, Girton - just outside Cambridge?

Thanks Rosie.
Maybe it was just that Betty (Henrietta) couldn't cope if he suddenly died, and called on a friend? Who took over everything? It doesn't sound much like what I remember of her, but I didn't really know her.
Cyril was not mentioned in the will, no one else was. Including family!

From googling the cause of death, I would assume that he was in hospital or a nursing home and as he was cremated it would need 2 doctors to sign the death certificate.  Normally, "causing the body to be cremated (or buried) means the cert has been signed by a member of hospital staff, so it's probable that Cyril Frederick Wright was either a doctor or nurse.

The cert. does say place of death is 35 Causewayside, his home a/d.
Also says 'certified by N.A.Walker, MB' only

I now have 'SLeader Cyril Frederick Wright' coming from Burma with family in 1858.
- a/d Cambridge, right birth date.
Maurice wasn't in the RAF he was in the Royal Engineers - and he was in Burma, if the Burma Star I used to have is his. He did have 2 cousins in the RAF.....could be any sort of connection here, but I feel doubtful if Cyril was a doctor?

Or am i just confusing things?!

Hi,

In the 1975 edition of Kelly's Directory for Cambridge the occupant of 35 Causewayside is H. Little.

In the 1960 edition (information probably gathered in 1959) No. 35 is missing, so possibly empty.  Maurice does not appear in the list of private residents.

I don't have 1961 but in 1962 Maurice Little is listed at that address.
