Shudall Redmond families 1800-1850
« on: Saturday 02 July 05 01:55 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

a friend recommended this site - here goes..

I'm researching John Loftus Shudall born circa 1790 - Wexford? and Ann Redmond born circa 1800 - they married circa 1830.

It appears John died prior to 1850 and Ann Shudall nee Redmond came to Australia with several of her children in the early-mid 1850's - settling in Melbourne.

thanks to everybody

Robert

I fear I have little information for you but the name Shudall still existed in Wexford town up to a few years ago. The family had a sweet shop in Peter's Street.

As far as I know the Shudalls were coastguards in the old days ,stationed at one stage in Duncormick . There is at least one of that family alive still ,living in the U.K.

Shellback,
How do you know of the (Wexford) Shudall family in England?  Do you have contact details for them?

A few of us have been researching the Wexford Shudalls for some years now so if they are in your line it would be good to have email contact with you.

Hatslip, I have no family connection with the Shudalls. A late friend of mine was in contact with a Jackie Shudall who I think was the last of his generation still alive. I f i can find out any further details i will get back to you .

Hi There,

shudall is mainly a protestant surname.  Have you tried the wexford Church of Ireland Church St. Iberius, The Rector is Rev. Maria Jansson, The Rectory Spawell Road Wexford.  There were Shuddalls in the C.ofI. in Piercestown/Mulrankin Union. This Church was Amalgamated with Wexford Union.

There are also some Shudalls in the Gorey area .

If you contact Rev. Jansson she can assist you and also give you a contact for the Gorey C.of I.

Regards,

Summerhill.

Thanks for the recommendation.  I do have hundreds of Shudall records so far from the 1600s, 1700s and 1800s but can always do with more.
