No she was buried in Christchurch, she was travelling to meet up with Robert Edward Binfield, from what we can establish (see other posts) her Mother Agnes married Robert's father and we think she may have been a child from a previous marriage but she/he saw each other as brother/sister.  We are trying to establish this given that all census records when Robert was in the UK there is no mention of Flora??  So my thoughts are, if we can find the death certificate it may help us unravel what at the moment is a bit of a mystery!

Yes I've looked at all the deaths of Stevenson in NZ but none match.  You may see from a previous post that there is a Flora Stevenson leaving UK on the Rangitiki in 1946 and we think that is her.  The death certificate of Agnes Binfield (Mother of Robert) 21 March 1946 states that F. Stevenson daughter present at death, 21 Peter Street, Folkestone.

If that's the right Flora Lee, here is a likely baptism:

At the Christ Church Licensed School-Room, Macclesfield, 25 December 1880

Flora daughter of Samuel & Agnes Lee. Occupation Warpdresser

37 Barton Street

In the 1901 census, Flora Lee aged 20 from Macclesfield is a kitchenmaid in Folkestone. In the household of Oscar De Satge, a "retired Australian sheep farmer".

See more about him here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_de_Satge

The only likely marriage I can find for Samuel Lee and Agnes is in Macclesfield on June 21st 1880. Samuel Lee, 27, warpdresser, and Agnes Kelly, 23. Her father William Kelly deceased, mechanic. Sam's father Samuel Lee, a mason.

I would suggest that you obtain Richard Henry Binfield's marriage certificate to make sure we have the right Agnes.
