As all of the events listed happened before Civil Registration began in Scotland (1855) there would not be any certificates.
Death records were very poorly kept in many areas as there was no requirement to keep such records if lucky there may ba a couple of lines recording the burial.
The childrens births - again there was no compulsion to have them recorded and the main records curreently available (online) are those of the Church of Scotland and some of the RC records. The weavers of Paisley were a mixed lot and some had their own meeting houses rather than attend the established church.

Thanks for your reply , yes I got some advice from a professional geneologist who produced a pamphlet on secession churches, she confirmed they all had their own records, and the records do not include this time. like all family tree stuff I am sure a small clue by a distant relative will open up the past !

This should get you there Jack,

Go to: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
Click: Old Parish Registers, Deaths and Burials at left of page
Type in the basic search options:
Surname: Mcmillan
Forename: Hugh
Date from: 5 March 1838
Date to: 5 March 1838
County/City: Lanark
Parish: Glasgow

That’s as far as I can go without buying credits.  If you haven’t used SP before, you will need to purchase 30 credits for £7.00. The above burial record will cost 6.  One credit for the reference and 5 to view the actual Register entry.

By widening the date and place options, this is the only burial record in all of Scotland for a Hugh Mc/MacMillan in 1838

Hope this helps.
