i believe your Mary Begg to have been known as sister Berchmans Begg who ministered there between 1875 and 1896. I do have a list of the rosminian sisters religious names and dates they were there i also have a list of the Sisters of Charity of St Paul given and religious names and the dates and some additional info from when they were in whitwick

AliIsoMar - I am mortified that I didn't see these replies of yours until today! It's nearly six months since you kindly did this research for me, and you must have felt that I was most ungrateful.

.. I look at the Graveyard board from time to time, and I saw your post there today about Whitwick Cemetery, and decided to recap on my post on the Leicestershire board.

I don't know if I overlooked an email from Rootschat, or if there was a glitch, but I am truly thankful for your hard work.

Yes, I think she was sister Berchmans - there was a reference to her at a family funeral. Until now I've been unable to link Mary Begg with Sister Berchmans definitely.

regards eadaoin (grovelling!)

Just to bring everyone up-to-date, I sent off for the 1938 Death Cert of Mary Begg in Loughborough.

She died in the Convent in Park Road, and is described as "Sister of Providence of the Institute of Charity", daughter of Michael Begg shipowner (deceased).
That ties her into our family very nicely.

Thanks to all who helped, particularly AlilsoMar

regards eadaoin
