Hello

Abergavenny Chronicle and Monmouthshire Advertiser Friday June 9th 1916
Moreton Villa Abergavenny  part of the estate of Mr Blennerhassett was being auctioned July 4th

1925 obituary
Major Harry William Buddicom of Moreton Villa Abergavenny was born 1859 being the son of the late W B Buddicom who was also a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and whose important work on the railways both here and in France are summarised in his memoirs.
He was educated at Wellington College and after serving an apprenticeship as an engineer with Messrs Sharp, Stewart of the Atlas Works Manchester. He was appointed engineer and assistant managing director of the Blaina Iron and Tinworks South Wales.
In the early years of the war 1914-16 he commanded a squadron of Yeomanry and afterwards was posted to the Mechanical Warfare Department where his engineering training and experience found a useful scope.

Hi Julie,
Welsh Newspapers Online http://papuraunewyddcymru.llgc.org.uk/en/page/view/4121816/ART38/moreton%20villa
describe the detached Villas sale in 1916 and locate it as having frontages onto the Brecon Road and Belgrave Roads. This means it must either be the property on the one corner (know as Cantref Residential Home), or the house on the opposite corner. The house on the opposite corner is semi detached, if you look at it in detail (using Google maps), it could have once been detached?

hope this helps
