Hi all,
Could sks help me locate my 4x gt grandfather Thomas Parker (1798-1879) on both the 1841 & 1851 Census please?
Thomas was born in 1798 in Swalwell, Durham. His wife Martha (1796-1873) was born in 1796 in Whitby, North Yorkshire (although on some censuses she incorrectly states Hull!)
They could well be in Bedlington, Blyth or Newcastle. Bedlington was where they married in 1821 & their 4 children were born, Blyth where one of their daughters & her family were living & Newcastle where they are in 1861 & 1871 & where they subsequently died.
Thomas was variously a Waterman/Keelman in the 1820's & 30's, a Forgeman in 1846 on daughter in Blyth's marriage cert & a Labourer on the 1861 census.
Thomas & Martha had four children all born & baptised in Bedlington. Mary born 1822, Ann born 1823/24, Isabella born 1827 & Thomas born 1831/32.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
David
