Stirling Minor/ Sterling Miner

 My great grandmother was Sarah Jane Ludlow (nee Minor/miner) born in 1852 Queensland. There is some dispute as to her legitimacy. Her father was Sterling/ Stirling Minor/Miner/ born in New York, Blackrock 1806 and died in Dunwich Queensland Australia in 1900.
On her birth certificate the mother is listed as Josephine.
I have an elderly cousin who is very ill and who is battling to find true answers about this Sterling Minor as well as Edmond Ludlow Sarah Jane's husband that he can pass on to his family.
 On Sterling Minor's side there are stories of emigrating to America with his father Samuel. Sterling in  whaling ships and  his father fighting the indians in America. He says that Sterling came to nSW and then moved to Queensland  around 1824-26  and had done all this before. he met and married. I would be so grateful for anything remotely chronological for this man and his family.

NSW Gaol Entrance and Description book has Stirling Minor, born 1806, arrived 1828 on the Huron, admitted to Darlinghurst Gaol in 1854.

There is a public tree on Ancestry that has the baptism record for Edward Minor s/o Stirling and Mary Barrett, he was born in 1845, baptised in 1846, although the birth doesn't appear to have been registered until 1854.

There is a NSW BDM record of the Baptism of Edward MINOR in 1845 ref # 426/1845 V1845426 63

I imagine that it was in Queensland as it was still a part of NSW at that time, (separation 1859) so a mirrored record exists in that state also. SEE: BBP2310 in 1854

Birth records did not start in NSW until 1856.
