Looking for Winifred A Dunnell (nee Clarke) & Harry Dunnell

Hi there,

My great grandfather Harry Dunnell B:1914 in Pontefract Yorkshire D:1998 in Colchester remarried after divorcing my great grandmother to a Winifred A Clarke B: 1918 D: 2002 (I think)

I have births and deaths, but if any relatives or anyone who knows these people could contact me I would be ever so grateful.

My grandmother never knew her father and I would love some information for her - photos would be amazing! I know this is a long shot!

Have you looked to see if she appears in any websites' public member trees, such as ancestry, and tried to make contact that way?

As the other Rootschatter suggested a look on Ancestry is a good idea. You will find a photograph of your Great Grandmother on there-Hilda Valentine Easton -unless of course this is your tree on there.

Yes that's my tree with the photo of my Great Grandmother. I've searched and searched on Ancestry for Harry Dunnell and can't seem to find anything. I'm hoping relatives/friends might come forward and my new lead with his second wife Winifred might open up some more doors.

Have you got the marriage certificate for Harry's second marriage, just to make sure it is her maiden name - there do not seem to be any Dunnell/Clarke children.

If it is her maiden name, have you looked for obvious siblings for Winifred?

That will might be very useful.

Scrub that idea - far too many Clarke/Carter births in West Ham.

Ah, no I haven't got their marriage certificate. I just found a marriage record and went with it. When I googled her name it came up with an electoral roll from Walton on the Naze (the place of death listed on Harry's death certificate) with an address where previous tenants were 'Clarke's so I assumed my lead was correct.

Marriage certificate will be the next step! I didn't even think of that! How silly of me!

I have found her in another Ancestry tree and have messaged the owner asking if it is the same person.

Thought I would post an update - I have written to the address that they last lived, because on 192.com it said a couple with the same maiden name were living there. I've written and asked for information if they have it. And apologised if it's not relevant to them!!
