Hi
Two possibilities are Dawley Bank and Lawley Bank which are certainly in the locality.

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

Looking at the first letter I would go with Lawley Bank, the National Archives have produced a great tutorial on handwriting, here is the alphabet part - looks like an L might be the right one for your record

Brown,Brooks,Watson - Belper/Duffield Derbys

thanks for that - looking at google map I'm amazed at how many "pool"s there are in the area - especially when I read a book at a library that stated the surname might mean "the dweller by the pool by the plum trees" - pity I haven't found a "Plum Pool" ;D
