Am i on the right track

Have been trying the Evans/Ramsay side of the family.

Thomas John Evans married Louisa Maud Grimmett 1920 - Fochriw.

They had 3 children 1920-28

Tracing Louisa, I've found a Louisa M Grimmett from Ledbury, moved to Fochriw approx. 10 yrs old.
But also found a Louisa Maria Grimmett from Ledbury.
Any clues of which is the correct Louisa.

Eva Ramsay married Robert Cornforth 1942 Darlington
Gabrielle FT Ramsay born 1928 London, Mother Rawlings.
Some family members also think Gabrielle had a sister, cannot find any trace.
Some family members also came from Thirsk.
Cannot find any marriage etc from Rawlings to Ramsay.

Any help would appreciated.

Any clues of which is the correct Louisa.

A copy of the 1920 marriage cert will give you her age at that time and her fathers name and occupation

No other birth listed for a Louisa M Grimmett

I can only see one 1901 entry for a Louisa M Grimmett - parents Charles & Sarah.  Born 1900 Pixley and living in the Ledbury RD

But also found a Louisa Maria Grimmett from Ledbury.

The free 1911 index shows a Louisa Grimmett in Glamorgan so what entry did you find for a Louisa Maria?

On 'Find my Past - births' did a search for Louisa Grimmett, came up as a Louisa Maria Grimmett - Ledbury - 1900

FindMyPast and Family Search are both incorrect - I have checked the GRO index which shows her as Louisa Maud - compare the qtr/volume/page details - they are the same

A William A Grimmett died Merthyr Tydfil, age 13, Jun Qtr, 1916

Search for "grimmett" and limit the search to the "Monmouthshire Guardian.

Re the article dated 7 April 1916 would this be William, younger brother of the Louisa Grimmett on the 1911 Census?

I generally use FreeBMD and try to use Local BMD's if available, occasionally use FindMyPast and FamilySearch for cross referencing. I'll try remember checking the indexes in future although I do keep notes of them against the searches for family members.

With the wealth of access you guys have, any clues with Rawlings/Ramsay. Gabs Ramsay's mother at birth as Rawlings and then marries as a Ramsay. Can't find any marriage of Rawlings to Ramsay or any connection.

You haven't given any details of  who their parents were.  Although mmn  was Rawlings that doesn't necessarily mean she married as Rawlings.

If it was her second marriage, children's birthcerts will show her actual maiden name but any marriage will be under her previous married name.

Suggest you buy one of the children's birth certs to get more info.  BTW - when did Gabriella die

This one of my problems with the Evans/Ramsay. The family never really spoke of their family, who/where etc. it's mostly who/what the current children can remember of their childhood etc.

Gab f t Ramsay birth 1928 london - vol 1c pg 16 line 11 (mother - rawlings)
Eva Ramsay married Robert Cornforth 1942 Darlington - vol10a pg 83
Gab f t Ramsay was married 1948 to Mervyn Evans Glamorgan - vol 8b pg 750 line 31
Gab died 1982 - Glamorgan

Children only know Gabs mother as Eva, lived after marriage in Darlington and think Eva's mother lived in Thirsk.

The only Cert they have is Mervyn's Birth cert.

That's all the info given or researched.
