Hi and Welcome to RootsChat Ian ;D

There is a marriage for the couple listed on the FreeBMD index as below - Do you have a copy which should confirm their ages, fathers etc?

Marriages Sept Qtr 1912
Constance M M Grant to Arthur S Hutchins -  Devonport Registration District Vol 5b   Page 649

Are you trying to look for their ancesters??

Kay

Constance's name is unusual with two middle names and the only one that I can spot is in 1890 in London

Edit - Found  a death of a Constance Mary M Hutchins in  Sept Qtr 1972  in Camberwell  Reg District - the index lists her as born 18 Jan 1890 which would fit with the birth above

There is a naval record of an Arthur Sydney Hutchins
Service number    K10937  Birth date 01 July 1890 in   Fulham
The record states that the he joined the Navy on 6 April 1911.  His occupation at enlistment was listed as porter which was crossed out and replaced by labourer.  If it is him it could be the reason the couple married in Devonport/Plymouth area
A copy of the record is in the National Archives http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D6920932

I can't see an Arthur Sydney Hutchins with the parents  at the moment.   Do you know Arthur's age, place of birth or anything more that would help??

Would he have been in the Navy as the record I found?  Are  you sure Constance's maiden name was Grant as I can't see the births of their children with the surname Hutchins and mother's maiden name Grant?

Kay

The only birth that I can see in 1886 doesn't seem to tie in with anything in the census??
