Certificate information

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask in, but do English death certificates from the 1880s include information on the parents of the deceased? In NZ they do, but am wondering about whether it will be worth getting English death certificates for a couple of English ancestors in order to find out their parents' names.

Hi,

Short answer is no; if the deceased is a child then it will say  "son/daughter of......."  usually the father. I suppose if the father is dead it will show the mother's name but I've not got one of those in my collection.
