I might add that most Newspapers, in this country anyway were not digitised until after 2004. So if it were for an earlier notice it would have to be manually entered into a database. Prior that they all relied on Hardcopy and this is why Ryerson and Libaries are so important.

Trove provides scanned image copies of the hardcopy and has been a long project by the NLA of all early newspapers across the nation some up to the 1970's, I think.. :P

Ryerson and their researchers provides a look up service for people who are overseas and cannot access the hard copy record to get the vital information needed for their genealogy research.

This can be done via their web pages, but it would be wise to let them know your difficulty in access and with the details that you have in your initial post. It may take a little time as it involves a person getting to the copy transcribing it and then sending it on to your email address or postal address.

I will send a PM to an RChatter who may be able to look up the actual newspaper at the Qld State Library, or may know of a Ryerson Volunteer.  But, please do remember that it is fast approaching the Christmas Season, which is also when the Summer Holidays occur, and Schools are closed for at least the next six weeks, so many volunteer looker upper-ers may have other commitments at this time.

Cheers,  JM

Hi,

I often go to the Qld State Library and on my next visit could look up and see if there was a notice and copy, but it would't likely be until early in the new year.

In the mean time you could try the 'Ask a Librarian' service with the SLQ, the Librarians in the family history section are great and the old newspapers are held there on microfilm..
