William Murphy and Annie McCoy
« on: Wednesday 24 December 14 06:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello all and Merry Christmas.  I recently found a record on familysearch from IRELAND BIRTHS AND BAPTISMS, 1620-1881 for a "Female Murphy birth 15 Jul 1864, Birthplace 0694, Moneymore, Londonderry, Ireland, Father's Name WILLIAM MURPHY, Mother's Name ANNIE MCCOY".  I believe this is my husband's relative.  I show a New York City ship's arrival in 1867 for William and Annie with a daughter, Jane, born 1864 in Ireland.  (I later found Annie's maiden name, McCoy).

I am looking for a marriage record for William and Annie prior to 1864 or possibly a baptism for Jane Murphy.

Thank you -
Pat

The civil record for the 1864 birth is available here (£2 for the 'full' option, which includes a digitised image of the original script), the birth was registered in Magherafelt, County Tyrone:

A William Murphy (father Matthew) married an Anne McCoy (father Anthony) in Molesworth (3rd Cookstown) Presbyterian Church, County Tyrone, on 21 November 1861.

The civil record for the marriage, including digitised image, is available at the link I previously posted.

Just a possibility, but Griffiths valuation has an Anthony McCoy residing in the townland of Magherascullion in the civil parish of Desertlyn (print date 1859).  You could also look for a Matthew Murphy in the Tyrone / Londonderry county border area here:

Pending your confirming information from the previously mentioned civil records, here is also just a possibility.

An Anthony McCoy married  an Anne (a.k.a. Nancy) Loan in Desertlyn Church of Ireland on 14 May 1835, there are a number of children's baptisms shown on the 'RootsIreland' website that fit that couple, including a daughter Anne, unfortunately the subscription is expensive for 1 record. But just to note for now.

Hello, actually the Murphy's are the family my husband's great grand aunt married into.  I don't know where their extended family were.  I was hoping that, if I could find more family members, I could widen my search by finding more living descendants who might know something about her and her husband.  They seem to have fallen off the face of the earth after 1895 or thereabouts.
