Sorry- I just corrected it so that it's clear I'm looking for the Dingwall family. Thanks.

My gg grandmother is Georgina Deans or Dingwall, born illegitimate to Agnes Dingwall, millworker, 23 Dec 1860, 165 Barrow St, Woodside, Old Machar, Aberdeen

Georgina's father was Thomas Deans and from what I can see, Agnes and Thomas never married each other, although Agnes married William McQueen, laborer, of Charles St, Woodside, 24 September 1847.

I recently found Agnes' death certificate and discovered the names of her parents, Daniel & Ellen (Baxter) Dingwall, and that's as far as I've gotten. I'm looking for information on Daniel Dingwall's family. Thanks for any info you might have.
Robi

What I have is below:

1851 census, 143 Barron/barrow st, old Machar, Aberdeenshire
William McQueen, 24, head, laborer b Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire (died 1857?)
Agnes (Dingwall) McQueen, 27, wife, b Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
Richard McQueen, 3, son, b Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
Alexander McQueen, 1, b Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire

By 1861, just after my gg grandmother was born, Agnes was head of household:
7/4/1861 census, 165 Barron (barrow?) st, Old Machar, Aberdeenshire
Agnes McQueen, age 36, b +- 1825, St Nicholas, Aberdeenshire, head
Richard McQueen, 12, scholar, son, b Old Machar, Aberdeenshire
Alexander McQueen, 11, scholar, son, b Old Machar, Aberdeenshire
Jessie (Jessy)McDonald McQueen b 17 Oct 1852, McQueen, 8, scholar, daughter, b Old Machar, Aberdeenshire
Margaret Artis McQueen, B 20 mar 1855, age 6, scholar, daughter, b Old Machar, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
William McQueen, 03 April 1857, 4, son, b Old Machar, Aberdeenshire
Georgina Deans, 3 mos, daughter, b Old Machar, Aberdeenshire

2/4/1871 census, 52 Wellington, Woodside, Old Machar, Aberdeen
Agnes MacQueen, widow, head, 43, housekeeper, b Aberdeen
Richard MacQueen, son, unmarried, b Aberdeen, cloth steamer at wool mill

William MacQueen, son, 13, baker,  b Aberdeenshire, Woodside
Georgina Deans, daughter, 10, scholar,  b Aberdeenshire, Woodside

Agnes died as the widow of William McQueen, seaman merchant services
on 14 February 1880 at 4 Gordon street, Lochee 49 years? (illegible)
Daniel Dingwall, seaman (merchant service) (deceased)
Ellen Dingwall (Baxter) (deceased)

Old Machar is one of the two parishes that make up most of the city of Aberdeen, the other being St Nicholas.

Dingwall isn't an uncommon name. There are 31 Dingwalls in the index to the 1901 census for the city of Aberdeen.

Have you extracted everything you usefully can from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Couple of questions

What was Daniels occupation on Agnes death record?

Have you got Daniels marriage from scotlands people to see if that gives you any clues of where Daniel was from?

Still trying to locate Agnes on the 1841 census
