Hi Erin,

He seems to have been a crew member on "Hantoon" which sank around following collision in 1882.  He was a light ship captain in 1901 and died in 1938.   Name was changed from "Lucking" to "Luccan" close to 1901.

Eugene,

On the top of this site, there is a search bar. Type in Lucking, the second listing is by a woman who was asking about a Lucking family of Wexford. She was last active on Rootschat last month (Nov)... I would reply to her post or once you have posted 3 messages you could send an IM to her. Perhaps she might have info.

Also, Have you searched the 1901 and 1911 census for Thomas? If you post what info you do have (middle name or complete name, parents, wife, children) that would help others assist you.

.... And Welcome to Rootschat!

Thomas Luccan is a sponsor on my grandfathers baptismal entry.  Grandad was  john J Walsh born 1882 in King Street, son of John Walsh and Mary Furlong.  I have been trying over time to find connection.  Was he a family friend or related.  Anne
