The Thatched Cottage, Ascot
« on: Thursday 01 January 15 20:46 GMT (UK) »
I have a letter written in June 1940 which is unfortunately unsigned. The letter is a circular detailing  the events that overtook the Queens Victoria Rifles (QVR) at Calais in  May 1940 and was written from 'The Thatched Cottage, Ascot. My question is who was living at The thatched Cottage in Ascot in June 1940?  Any help much appreciated.

Do you believe that this is the modern day equivalent?

'Thatched Cottage
88 Chobham Road
Ascot'

ER from 1938/1939?

I think this might possibly be a later marriage for her

Marriages September quarter  1961
 Charles T Epps        Salisbury    7c   1528
 Evelyn M Huxter        Salisbury    7c   1528

as Evelyn M Huxter appears on ER's in London in the late 1940's and 1950's and is living with Charles and Louise Epps (and others) in 1955 in West minster.

This might be her birth, as she is in Salisbury by 1911, but why Ascot and Westminster?
