Have you found Frederick in the censuses of 1841, 1871, 1881 and 1891?

Have you found Frederick Sinden in 1841, 1851 and 1861?

Just checking, this is the death of Frederick James Castle

Deaths June quarter 1897   Frederick James Castle age 73 at Greenwich 1d 526

Where did you find the death for Mr Sinden in 1912, as I cannot see it?

Thanks

Presumably you have this record, it is for Frederick Arthur Sinden's son, with C standing for Castle (as on the 1911 census).

Births March quarter 1899   Frederick James C Sinden  Lewisham 1d 1231

To Chempat;

Thanks for the information. The death for Mr Sinden in 1912 came from a family tree and I don't trust it at all. In my opinion he must have died before the marriage of Kate Sinden to Mr Castle in 1896 but I have not found a death record for Mr Sinden. Have you found one?

Are you aware of a third child - baptised the same day as Arthur Frederick and Gordon?

Walter Ernest Sinden
Born 6 April 1871
Baptism    9 Jan 1879
Father Frederick Sinden
Mother Kate Sinden
Paddington St Mary Magdalene

Not 100% sure what became of him

Walter ernest (or Ernest Walter as he is on the birth registration) is a bit of a mystery. No sign until a death of someone with the same name and correct age in Berkhamsted in 1944. adminstraiton to Doris Edna Boot, spinster, and Horace Eustace Jarvis solicitor

Now if I have the correct death for Gordon (1873-1941: died Isle of Wight?) - he also has a Horace Eustace George  Jarvis, solicitor as executor [by the way have you seen 1911 for Gordon - a bit odd if it's the same one]

this wuold suggest a connection - so where is Ernest Walter in the meantime? Are they indeed using two surnames?

I think you need to seriously consider whether Frederick James Castle born about 1824 in Tunbridge is the same person as Frederick James Sinden born 1824 to 1831 or similar in Tunbridge.
