Margeret Skillings !

Hello I 'have posted on another section but no luck   I'am looking for Margaret Skillings 1836 born Paisley Scotland . She is in Wales in 1871 and then married there too . I am trying to find her before 1871 but have had no luck she does-not seem to be on any cences before 1871 in England so i thought she may have been in Scotland as she was born there any help please .

I take it Margaret Skillings is the lady on the 1871 Census who is living as an employee (housekeeper) with the Lenoir family /head of house Robert Lenoir and what could be her 2 year old daughter Elizabeth in Newport Monmothshire.
Think this could be her in Newport on the 1861 - age 22 (a wee bit out but when are Census ages ever consistent) as Margaret Skelland -  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7Y8-1VN

By the way, it's Robert Senior and family (not Lenoir!)

Family search have transcribed Senior as Lenior (which sounded a little bit Continental ).
Margaret's name  has obviously been misspelled too somewhere along the line.

Regarding Robert Skelland , he and his family should be in Newport on 1851 Census as his daughter Sarah is according to 1861 Census born there in approx. 1849.

This marriage in Pontypool is interesting

6/1/1867,
Robert Senior, 20, Bachelor, labourer, otp, father Robert Senior, platelayer
Sarah, Skelling, 21, Spinster otp. Father Peter Skelling, basket maker
Witnesses John Channon, Mary Ann Channon

This does appear to be the sister of Margaret "Skelland" from 1861 marrying Robert Senior's son. In 1881 another of Robert's sons Mark is with them. Peter "Skelland" on 1861 is a basket maker

Very interesting Mabel.  Certainly looks like Margaret's sister marries her employer's son.

Now I think I may have located Peter and Margaret on the Scottish 1841 Census.

*The term outside Census county means born in Scotland but not in the County where they are residing at the time of Census.

So could this be Peter with a young wife and a toddler Margaret Cruikshanks ( his daughter later called Margaret Skelland/Skillings).  Could this Be Elizabeth Scillon's child but not Peter's.
More investigating is required but I think this entry is a strong contender for Peter and his daughter.

Address 4 Birds Court Newport. Another family with the surname Hawks are recorded as lodgers.

Sarah's birth reg seems to be under the surname Skallind as Sarah Ann Skallind in the October quarter 1848 in Newport.
