Covenanters Inn, Trossachs
« on: Monday 05 January 15 20:22 GMT (UK) »
This is a bit of a long shot, but I am trying to trace any photos (or even sound recordings) of a dance band that played at the Covenanters Inn, Trossachs in the early 1960s.  Joe Laurie played the piano and sometimes the trumpet in the band.  Any information or locations of sources would be gratefully received.

The only Scottish Country Dance band I can think of with a trumpet was Jim Cameron's.

It was a swing dance band I think and not a Scottish dance band.

Helen,
The Strathard News is the local newspaper for the Trossachs’ communities of Aberfoyle, Kinlochard, Stronachlachar, and Inversnaid.  Although the paper came into being much later than the 1960's, there may be someone on the production team with contacts in the area who remember, and possibly went to the dances.
If the paper were to print a short article on the topic, it might unearth some of the information you are looking for.
