John Quine born 1833

 :D John Quine was born on the Isle of Man in 1833. It is believed he had a son William Quine who may have emigrated to Australia.
Are there any registrations on Isle of Man? Could someone please help me finding details?

civil reg only compulsory 1877 (very few before this) - parish reg baptisms before this date - try also www.imuseum.im

The name "John Quine" isn't exactly uncommon on the Isle of Man! ::)

There are 12 such baptisms between 1830 and 1840.

When was William born?
Who was his mother?

Perhaps a marriage entry will give clues - such as John's father's name?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I've got a John Quine with a son William but the dates are slightly out. My John Quine (or one of the John Quines in my tree that has the nearest match date wise) married Mary Ann Corkill. He was born a few years later though than your John Quine, he was 1837 I believe. I don't know if that is any help or not...
