Eliza Steele, wife of James Edward Prettyman was born in 1813 in Suffolk and married in Norfolk 1851.

Her parents were Samuel Steele and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth died in Great Yarmouth. She was born in 1779 and died in 1863.

This is her in 1861

Could someone please find her maiden name? It could be Loom, but I am not sure

familysearch.org has the baptism of a John Loom at Burgh Suffolk on 21 November 1807 Only the mother Elizabeth as the parent.  All these details match the 1851 census where the surname is transcribed as Leom on ancestry. HO107 piece 1801 folio 619 page 24

The only possibility at the moment is that John is the illegitimate child of Elizabeth, father unknown, as evidenced by his using the name Loom and not the surname Steel. If Samuel was the father it would have been more likely that John would be using the name Steel in later years but he sticks with Loom.
