This John McNeill was born on May 15 1888 in Tarbert, Argyllshire. He served in the 1st World War with the 4th Highland (Mountain) Brigade (reg no 114) between 9.1.1911 and 19.2.1916 when he seems to have been discharged as his 5-year contract had terminated. This information about army service comes from series WO364 at the National Archives which I am led to believe means he claimed a pension. Does this mean he was injured during the war?
I can find no record of him after his war service and wondered if anyone else had perhaps researched him and knew what had happened to him afterwards?
