George Hutchinson 1881 Census
« on: Monday 12 January 15 12:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi All
i'am trying to find my Great Grandad George Hutchinson or any of his family in the 1881 census i believe them to be living in the Hebburn area of county durham. George was born in Nottingham abt 1850 his wife Mary Milligan was born abt 1851 Newcastle upon tyne, upto the 1881 census they had five children; Mary Ann 1873,Elizabeth 1875, Johannah 1877, George 1879 and John Thomas 1881 they were all born in Hebburn. I have them all in the 1891,1901 and 1911 census, George senior's place of birth varies in the census but the 1891 & 1911 gives Nottingham. George & Mary were married 21 Aug 1871 Gateshead.

could it be that Mary Ann didn't marry william until after the children were born?

Possible marriage in 1850

Marriages Mar 1850
Adams    Mary Ann        Radford    15   787

and on same page

Hutchinson    Joseph        Radford    15   787

NB  Going back to the 1851 census it does say that Mary Ann Hutchinson is married.

Jane on the 1861 census may also be a daughter of Mary and Joseph
