I'm trying to find the Birth & Death for David Duff here's what I know about him

Born abt 1780 don't know where in Scotland
Married ANNE PITKETLY 6 Aug 1802 Inchture Perth
Children: Betty 1803. Frederick 1805. John 1807. Susan 1811. Peter 1815. James 1817. Mary 1821
By the 1841 Perthshire census he is a widower

Susan Duff  39 Balgay Perthsire wife
Ann Wlitlaw 9 daughter Cargill
David 7 son all Wlitlaws

Susan 3mths

Either Susan is a second wife or more likely David's married daughter  born 1811.

In 1861 he's still there age 84 carter in the High St with a  maid Jane Mill 52  from Cargill.

You should be able to find his death cert on Scots people with his parents on that.

Thanks for the census info that was a big help

I have just found his death on Scotland's People he was transcribed as DANIEL not David no wonder I was having so much trouble finding his death!

Claire, David/Daniel/Donald are variants. This site here which I often refer to www.whatsinaname.net/php/search.php?action=search2&search_name=daniel only includes the Donald variant. However, I have often come across the David/Daniel variant too.
