There is some evidence that Mary Ann DRURY remarried in 1936 and she appears on the Electoral Roll still in Geelong district, in 1937.

Theses details may not be really relevant to your searches, but the information can be given if of interest. ;D

Sue

Thanks Sue  I would appreciate any of the information...  This "little" family has lots of stories to still find...

Thpught I'd list all of the children of Sampson and Louisa that I can find - some we have already mentioned, some from FreeReg (FR), some from FamilySearch (FS).  All have mother as Louisa, father is spelt Sampson or Samson.

John     Bapt:  21 December 1823    Bath Abbey, Bath (FS)
William  Bapt: 18 September 1825   Bath Abbey, Bath (FS, FR)
George, b 22 Oct 1830  Bapt: 14 Nov 1830, Vineyard Chapel, Bath (FS)
Ann Maria, 3 April 1833, bap 7 July 1833. Vineyards Chapel (FS, FR)
There is another baptism for Ann Maria 12 May 1833, on FR at parish church of St Thomas'a'Becket, Widcombe, parents Sampson (occ plasterer) and Louisa, residing at Oak St, Widcombe
Louisa Frances, b 3 September 1835, bap 10 January, 1836, Vineyards Chapel (FR, FS)

Note:
Vineyards Chapel is also known as the Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel (a non-conformist chapel, probably Methodist)  in Bath, and the baptisms recorded there also say that the abode of the parents is the Parish of Lyncombe and Widcombe.

I suspect that this may be the birth of the child listed as "John" in the 1841 census:
June qr 1838
Edward John BOLWELL, reg Bath, Vol 11, p7

Re the two children named "John".  As it was quite common to use the name of a child who had died for a later child, this may be the reason. There was 15 years between the first John and the second - if, in fact, they are brothers.  I can't see a baptism for the child named "John" in the census so perhaps he's only a cousin.

FreeReg also has a baptism which may be Sampson

Church: Walcot - St Swithin
Sampson BOLWELL, bapt: 25 Dec 1798
Parents: David, Frances
(St Swithin's church, Walcot  is in Bath)

And there is this death:
Dec qr 1839
Sampson BOLWELL, reg Clifton, Vol 11, p220
However, there are a couple of men of the same name so this may not be Ann's father.

thanks everyone lots more work to go through....

Just a question  would the death cert for Sam(p)son Bolwell in 1839 show his wife name if it is in fact the "my" Samson....

I did see there are quite few births for a Samson Bolwell and wife Sarah...

There was also  John Bolwell who fitted the age of 2nd John in the Martime records...

Thanks so much for all the help I get on these pages.... you are all amazing!!!!

Merlin has given you an example of a death cert from England/Wales.  The short answer is almost certainly no unless Louisa was the informant. I find these death certificates very frustrating!  >:(

I cannot see a death for Louisa as BOLWELL but there is this marriage.

June qr 1842,
Louisa BOLWELL reg Bath, Vol 11, p12 and on the same page is
William SMALLCOMB.

1851 census, living at 6 Somerset St, St James, Bath
William SMALLCOMB   60, occ: smith,  b Horton, Gloucestershire
Louisa SMALLCOMB   46, b Walcot, Somerset
Elizabeth SMALLCOMB 8, b Walcot, Somerset
Emily SMALLCOMB   2, b Lyncombe and Widcomb

However, these are only speculation - the surname SMALLCOMB is not uncommon in the Bath area.

To return to the "John BOLWELL " on the 1841 census this looks to be his marriage
26 Aug 1860 at Bristol, St Jude, Gloucestershire, England
Edward John BOLWELL, bachelor, Single, FATHER: Sampson Bolwell
SPOUSE:   Charlotte Herbert

and the 1861 census shows him living in Bristol with his wife Charlotte, aged 23 which fits perfectly with the age in 1841.
