Birth record/baptism for John Ashton

I cant seem to find a birth record or baptism for John Ashton son of Edmund and ?, born supposedly 26th april 1817 on the recruiting grounds at Froxfield Wiltshire. His father Edmund was in the Coldstream Guards. I would also like to know his mothers name and any other syblings if possible,Thanks lnr

Could you say how you got back to him, please?

He came to nz 1858 and was interviewed by a news paper reporter which said where his birth was..I found this in the Papers past nz. Also about his father being recruiting officer at Froxfield thanks lnr

John Ashton, for 42 years a Canterbury volunteer, late HM Coldstream Guards.

Also Alice Sarah Forsey, dau of above, died 9th April 1909, age 51.

So was Alice born just after he had arrived, or before?

I have all his info and his death cert tells us nothing. His daughter Alice.Sarah came as an infant on the Indiana but I think the birth was registered possibly Shardlow march 1858. I don't see what this has to do with her fathers birth though thanks lnr

john married Emma BAZELEY sept 1840 Islington the marriage cert stating johns father to be Edmund Ashton labourer thanks lnr

Froxfield parish registers do not appear to be online? Wiltshire OPC (Online Parish Clerks) doesn't have an OPC for Froxfield.

Nothing on Armed Forces births.
FamilySearch only starts in 1861.
There's nothing on FreeReg either?!
