William Burns, possibly born Roundstone, Cavan
« on: Wednesday 14 January 15 00:54 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking information on my great, great grandparents, William Burns and Mary Maloney. I believe William was born in Roundstone, Cavan and married Mary Maloney from Galway. They may have married in Manchester prior to migrating to Australia in the 1860's. Their daughter, Elizabeth Burns (my great grandmother), was born in Brunswick (Australia) in 1868.
Any information would be appreciated.
Cheers

There's also a Roundstone in Co. Dublin (Dublin South Poor Law Union so not near Cavan) but I couldn't find Roundstone in Cavan either. Of Mary was born in Galway then perhaps there's been a mixup with her place of birth and William's but unfortunately the dates are before the start of birth registration (1864) in Ireland.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
