Could Mary be deceased when her husband emigrated.
Do you know denomination of either of couple.
Their marriage was prior to civil registration.
Have you found passenger list, it may give hint as to where he was living in Ireland.
and or the nature of their employment
The surname is not very common.
Suggestion to try the Tithe defaulters list

In deed, I have been informed that Mary was deceased befor John immigrated to Canada.
I was not able to find a ship and/or the passenger list leaving Ireland.
I just been informed that another name variation would be McVicker!!
He came to Canada as a farmer/labourer
Thank you so much Healyj for your suggestion :-\

To My Vic
Some people traveled to England before heading to other foreign lands.
Ireland was part of British Isles, so there are no passenger lists between Ireland and England
You may find your ancestors on passenger lists from England/Great Britain to Canada

James Vicars baptised to John Vicars & Mary Whelan 6/1/1826 Cappinrush (Ballyfin) RC parish sp.  James Vicars & Elisa Whelan. See http://www.from-ireland.net/cappinrush-ballyfin-laois-queens-baptism-1825/ Ballyfin is not on Rootsireland, but when the NLI releases the films of its parish records online this summer, you can go through the list manually.

One of my ancestors was Joan Vicars (s of Joseph, b abt 1700) who married Joseph Lalor (d c 1700 d 1759) whose descendants also lived at Clonagown in Ballyfin. If you find anything more I would love to know.

Great info!

I dearly appreciate this effort of yours to try to help me out. This is actually a major brick wall that has started to loosen some bricks.

Again thank you so much, now I know the parish
