Dorothy Hilda Debenham, Newquay

Can anyone help me with my research into Dorothy Hilda Debenham who was the daughter of Rev Gerald Dalton Debenham. I know about the father but have only 1911 Census, Phone book address and date of birth and death info. Born on IOW, 22 May 1896. She is shown at Rockland, Newquay 1930 and Rookery Nook, Trenance Gardens, Newquay from 1933 onwards till her death 8 August 1938. She may have lived on money left to her and may have been involved in a local church as her father had been a vicar, but he died when she was very young.  Many thanks.

Mother's maiden name BENNETT, also had a sister Irene May Cobbold Debenham b 1898.

Thanks to Rosie and Pauline for the help about the family and relatives. I have most of this on my ancestry tree already as I have quite extensive research about all the rest of the family, but thanks for your hard work.

What I especially need to know is about her life from 1911 till her death in Newquay in 1938. I have no info apart from addresses for the last 27 years of her life. Are there any references in newspapers or an obituary?

The late Miss Debenham --Miss Dorothy Hilda Debenham aged 42 who died at Newquay last Friday was buried at Theydon Bois on Tuesday afternoon ....She was a member of a family which for many years resided in Theydon Bois ...Her father being buried in St Mary Churchyard in 1902

Many thanks Rosie, I didn't know that she had been buried at Theydon Bois, so that is an extremely useful piece of information.

Four generations of the family are buried there, sister, father, grand parents and gt grandmother. I will now have to see if her mother Amy Cobbold Debenham (Nee Bennett), who died in Woking, Surrey on 2 June 1942, was also returned there for burial.
