Hello Aghadowey

No I haven't checked any church records.  I don't know if you can do that online?  I live in Manchester and don't often get over to N. Ireland, once a year or so.  Jane and Archibald could have emigrated - it's hard to find out.    She'd have been about 26 at marriage so may have had children.  I really appreciate your efforts, thanks.  I'll keep searching!

Regards
Carol

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

PRONI has a large collection of church records- see www.proni.gov.uk- but you need to go in person as they are not online.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello Hallmark and Aghadowey

Thanks for your messages.  That's interesting about the names on the 1901 census which have 'oughan' at the end.  It all depends on how the person pronounced his name and how the other person wrote it down but it's something to go on.  Thanks for all the information

Regards
Carol
