Frances Cross ( nee Celey or Sealy )
« on: Tuesday 20 January 15 20:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
IGI has Frances 'Celey' marrying Francis Cross in 1710 in Besselsleigh.
Their last child I have located was Edward 1728 in Marcham
I am hoping that someone can give me information regarding the deaths / burials of Frances or Francis in Marcham area I would imagine.
Any help greatly appreciated.
regards,
robsdad

Hi Robsdad,

The Marcham transcripts are on CD OXF-ABO3 from the Oxfordshire FHS if you wish to buy it and  to see more of the entries listed.
I have found these burials in Marcham;
12-5-1711 Fras Sealey w/o Thos
29-3-1725 Thos Selley

There is quite a range of spellings of the surname ranging fromCeley, Celly, Selly to mention a few.

If your interested there is also this marriage;
23-3-1684 Thos Celey & Fras Wildblode

I've just re-read your message and I think you are referring to the burials of the "Cross's"
If so, there are these in Marcham;
13-10-1801 Francis Cross aged 76
18-10-1801 Ann Cross aged 66 "widow of above Francis" [sic]

Hi Allan,
Thanks for the info,  will have to find out what is contained on the disc you mention.
Thanks for Francis jnr and wifes details and yes I am looking in the first instance for the Cross family
In particular burials or births of Francis snr. and wife Frances born I would think 1680/90's

Hi robsdad,

They are available here;

Hi Kim,
Many thanks for details supplied - new surname introduced ( Colly ) and different marriage date slightly.
Are these directly from the Marcham P.R's as mentioned by Allan previously ?
Kind regards,
robsdad

Hi

Have re checked the Besselsleigh transcripts and  the marriage date is the 30th October 1710 and it also has "both of Marcham"

I have the Marcham and Besselsleigh transcripts on fiche {not easy to  read !}
the Marcham fiche only go to about 1800. I expect they have been extended for the CD :)

Also omited Frances Wildblood's parents :(
 they are Richard and Elizabeth

Cheers

Kim
