Michael Dwyer, Galbally
« on: Wednesday 21 January 15 12:42 GMT (UK) »
I've been trying for years to find a death or burial record for my gg grandfather Michael (O)Dwyer & his wife Johanna (nee Barry). They lived in different townlands in Galbally, I have this information from their children's baptism records. I know that that they were both still alive until 1881/82 as my grandfather, James, their youngest child was born in 1882. I've been over to Limerick twice researching my family but haven't been able to find any info on their deaths & have also visited the GRO in Dublin but no joy!

I did find the graves of my grandparents, James O'Dwyer & his wife Mary (nee) Buckley buried in separate graves, each with one of their sons in Ballylanders. I also spoke to a really nice lady at the Civil Registration Office but she couldn't find any records either!

Any help or suggestions gratefully received

Was it the civil or church marriage record you looked at? civil records tend to give more details (should list father's name & occupation although sometimes those details are legt out)

I have the exact date of the marriage the 14th of June 1907 &  witnesses were Robert Buckley & Ellie Dawson, I probably got the info from visiting the church in Galbally. I'll send for the marriage record from the GRO & hopefully it will state if Michael (O)Dwyer was deceased.

Thanks for your help
