My name is Marshall McLennan. Joseph Henry Mason was my grandfather. He married Hilda Maud Watt and they had two children, Lenore Mason (my mother) and Colin Joseph Mason, all living in Auckland. Joe died young, falling off the roof of their house when attempting repairs. In late 1929, Hilda, Lenore and Colin emigrated, resettling in San Francisco, California. Lenore met my father, Henry Vaughan McLennan, a Scottish immigrant in SF and they married in 1931. ^(*)

Hi Marshall.  Mary Tierney's sister (Emily Charlotte) is my great grandmother. I have done a bit of research on the tierney family. Mary is suppose to be one of 21/22  children. I can confirm 11 of them only/ How many have you found. I know of 2 that went to America but I have no details after that.

Hi Mike,  I come up with eleven as well: Mary Ann, Emily, Catherine, William, John, Patrick, Jane, Annie, Elizabeth, Sarah Ellen, and Margaret. Probably the same eleven you have identified. Actually, at the time you replied, I only had one, my second great grandmother, Mary Ann Tierney Mason, but in checking related family trees, I came up with ten of her siblings, including your great grandmother. For the most part I have been constructing my tree only with my ancestors and not including related branches. I have identified their parents as John Tierney and Jane Harlin. You probably have this information, but John's parents were Thomas Tierney and Mary Turrel or Turrell. Jane's father was William Harlin. I have no information about these three individuals, nor the identity of Jane's mother.  I am hoping that someone reading my query  might be able to provide some leads.

Hi Marshall,  I have your Mary Mason(Tierney) Grandfathers name as James Tierney, sent to Australia as a convict in 1829, with his for children Margaret, Mary, John and Bridget arriving Oct 1841.
