Marrage John Mountgarret/t 1845 Templemore Ireland

I was wondering if someone could help On a search on find my past I found the Marriage of one of my Ancestors ..His name is John Mountgarrett  to Elizabeth Mooney. 1845 Templemore I was just wondering if there was any more details like Fathers names of the Bride and Groom . Witness ect ..

Any help would be greatly recived

Registration of marriages other than Roman Catholic ones began in 1845.  You can see the record on

I can see that the marriage took place on 23 May 1845.  The full record costs £2 to view.  Not sure if that will give you additional information.

   The marriage took place in St. Columbs Church of Ireland, Londonderry on the date quoted by Glensman.

is there by any chance Johns Fathers name is Mentioned .. I haven't got much money to get certs and to Join Find my Past ..

These records normally give the names of both fathers but not the mothers' names.  You cannot download the record directly but people have been known to take a screenshot!

Thankyou for your Reply .. I think I will have to wait until a free trail comes up on Find my Past .. or save up to find out to see who Johns father was this will help me move on with the Mountgarret family

It may be that the fathers' names are not listed on the marriage certificate since they don't appear in the LDS extract. At the start of registration it was not uncommon to see a black or the word 'deceased' in those boxes rather than their names.
