George Cotton and Sarah Bell (c 1812) of Lissan, Canese, Armagh
« on: Saturday 24 January 15 16:08 GMT (UK) »
My GGG grandfather was George Cotton (b 1808) of Lissan and his wife was Sarah Bell.  I am looking for any information that might help me get back another generation or track what happened to the family that remained in Lissan.

Their son, my GG grandfather, Robert, came out to New Zealand via Australia and became an early settler in Waipori Otago, NZ. Their daughter, Sarah Jane, married Job Taylor, and also left for NZ, but returned to live with her uncle John at Killibasky.
I can find no other information about two other children, Elizabeth (except she may have married a Thomas Henry), nor son George.

Thanks

I couldn't find anyplace in Armagh that seemed like "Killibasky" as in your post but there is a townland called Killybasky (with lots of spelling variations) in Co. Londonderry in Lissan civil parish so I'm wondering if you could be getting confused with the Irish locations?

There were Cottons in Killybasky (Co. Derry) including a John Cotton in 1901 & 1911-

John Cotton's widow- Cotton Rachel of Killybaskey Lissan county Tyrone widow died 2 December 1933 Administration Belfast 5 June to Sarah Jane Clark married woman. Effects £10.
Lots of other Cottons in the Will Extracts-

Yes, it looks like I had my place wrong.  That is them. Sorry.
Any further info on George Cotton and Sarah Bell?
Living descendants?
I also have dna matches to the name Caulfield in that area. (Thomas Robert Caulfield)
Thanks for above info.
