My GGG grandfather was George Cotton (b 1808) of Lissan and his wife was Sarah Bell.  I am looking for any information that might help me get back another generation or track what happened to the family that remained in Lissan.
(originally posted in wrong location)
George Cotton b 1808 and Sarah Bell b abt 1812
Their son, my GG grandfather, Robert, came out to New Zealand via Australia and became an early settler in Waipori Otago, NZ. Their daughter, Sarah Jane, married Job Taylor, and also left for NZ, but returned to live with her uncle John at Killibasky.

I now have an address that apparently belonged to another daughter, Elizabeth Cotton, married to Thomas Henry- Ballinasollus, Oritor Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

Thanks for help.

Can you fill in any dates for us or expand on what you've already posted?

For example, when was your great-great-grandfather Robert born?

Here's Sarah Cotton's marriage to Job Taylor- which puts her born c1834:

Added- have lots more to post but will take a bit of time to type it all out

I would like to find out more about George Cotton (I think his middle name was Elliot) and Sarah Bell.  I have been struggling to find their parents names or any details before about 1830 and not sure where to look.  Next time I am in Ireland I would like to go to Archives in Northern Ireland to see what I can find, or possibly get someone to hunt for me.
Are there are still family members living in the area?
What became of George, John, and Elizabeth's descendants?

The Cotton's potentially originally came from Chester, Eng, but I don't know when they arrived in Ireland.

Hi,
   See http://applications.proni.gov.uk/DCAL_PRONI_WillsCalendar/willsSearchResultsDetails.aspx
for the will of John Cotton of CANCESE who died in 1888. There are also several other Cotton wills listed for the same area.
