Jones Family Help! Desperate!!
« on: Sunday 25 January 15 14:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi all!

Im trying to trace my gggg grandmothers parents but being a Jones im finding it really difficult!  :-[
The persons in question is the parents and siblings of Margaret Jones. Margaret was born about 1824 in Llanrwst. She married Uriah Morrallee in 1848 and died in 1884 in Llanyllin.
In 1851 Margaret and her family were lodging in Church Street, Llanidloes from a lady named Ann Jones.
Could this be a relation? or just a coincidence.

Can any help me trace her parents?

Thanks in advance. x

Hello Littlefacey,

I found Margaret & Uriah's marriage record and it states Margaret's father was John Jones, occupation Pot seller. The two witnesses are David Jones & Hannah Jones they are most probably Margaret's relations, possibly siblings.
I hope this will assist you in finding Margaret's family.

Kind Regards,

Ellen

It's under the Montgomeryshire Parish Registers 1528-1912 on Find My Past. The marriage took place at The Parish Church, Pennant, Montgomeryshire on the 24th January 1848. It has Uriah down as Uriahs and his occupation was Proffessional Huckster, address Pen Y Bont, father James occupation Pot Seller. Margaret's address was also Pen Y Bont and her father John also a Pot Seller.

Happy Hunting
