She was born in Jul-Sep 1903 quarter at Eynsham. This probably means that the Alison Cruickshank who went to Kenya is a 'Red Herring'.

What makes you think she is a red herring?  The birth year for that one was 1904 if I remember right which is pretty close and there aren't many ladies with that name around.

Hers is the only Alison Cruickshank birth that comes up until 1943.  The lady on the passenger list was single so....

Just one more observation there is another lady from Loughton Essex on the passenger list going to Kenya Mrs Christine Dixon 28 and Ann Dixon 2.  Might not be related but...

I did say 'probably' a red herring. I have no evidence that she moved to Essex or became a teacher, although she may have gone there. It is still a possibility that it could be her . Estimated date of birth only, on the list of passengers. Have found no other likely record. Nothing from Scotland although her father was from Aberdeen. I have tried all varieties of name, with and without initials etc etc on google, but without success.
Burt, Cockrill, Craske, Debenham, Double, Grimwade, Grimwood, Hilder, Mayhew, Ray. All from  West Suffolk around the Bury St. Edmunds area.

Estimated date of birth only, on the list of passengers.

Birth registered Sept qtr 1903 so presumably born between July-September but could also be June

She would have reached 22yrs old between June-September 1925

Sailed 16.4.1926 aged 22 so age and birthyear tie in perfectly

As mentioned in an earlier reply - hers is the only Alison Cruickshank birth in England in that timescale and I have just checked Scotlands People and there are no births registered in Scotland with that name in that timescale

As she had a choice of quite a few christian names, have you tried looking for her under one of the others ,rather than Alison?

Are you thinking she died abroad?

Where was the family living because the lady on the passenger list gives a home address of Firbank, Loughton, Essex.

"Firbank" was the original name of Oaklands school which is a private independent school in Loughton, on the outskirts of Epping Forest, I am just wondering if contacting them may give some insight as to any records that may be held for this Alison Cruickshank?
