Skoosh,

There are plenty of Dragon's Head charges in British heraldry. Benne, Beresford, Ashpitel, and Cosens to name but a few   :)

However, in this instance I'm inclined to go with KGarrad's Griffins. Whether this coat really represents the LeDespencers I'm not so sure, I can't find any connection between them and the Caledon Alexanders, or any other Alexanders for that matter. There was a Sir William Gore, Lord Mayor of London in 1702, Argent, on a fess double cotised Gules, 3 Griffins head's erased  but I haven't been able to trace any descendants so far

The Le Despencer coat-of-arms may have continued down family lines?

Viscount Falmouth.
Baron Wentworth.
And the 16th Baron le Despencer was certainly alive until 1831!

Anne Isabella Millbanke, 11th Baroness Wentworth was the wife of Lord Byron, and the mother of Ada Lovelace.

Alright.. more goodies for you :)

The maker mark is JOSEPH HARDY of London, 1812.

And a very clear photo... I think they might be Dragons after all?

I still cannot find any reference to 3 dragon's heads erased on a fess?!
And particularly not on a double cotised fess?! ;D

The hatching definitely indicates red on white/silver.

Interestingly, there have been other silver pieces from the same maker with other unidentifiable heraldic designs on them for sale in recent years, dating back from the late 1700's.
