The Right Honourable Thomas Stapleton, Baron Le Despencer, and a Baronet; born Nov. 10 166 succeeded his father in the Baronetage, Jan 1 1781, and the late Rachael, Baroness Le Despencer, on May 16 188, relict of Sir Robert Austen, Bart. of Bexley, in Kent.

His Lordship is maternally descendedfrom the Veres, Earls of Westmorland.

The arms on the left appear to be those of the Alexander family? But which branch?!

Per pale Argent and Sable a chevron and in base a crescent all counterchanged.

When rendered in black-and-white, black is shown by cross-hatching; red by vertical hatching.

Thank you all so much for all your messages! I am amazed at the knowledge on this website! I managed to get a couple more photos so hopefully this will help! The three creatures look like dragon heads...

and yes it is dated by hallmark to 1812 in London.

Definitely look like Gryphon heads to me!

Dragon heads invariably have forked tongues?! ;D

Gryphons lower jaw turns upwards. The lions have a straight lower jaw facing down to the left.
