Hanging of postman 1910-20 in Keady/Derrynoose
« on: Monday 04 July 05 21:32 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for information on the above incident.  As far as I know, the postman was involved in opening and reading mail concerning the Troubles at the time and was hung for doing so.  I think Brennans/Conleys were involved in some way or other with this - whether as witnesses or as defendant or informer, I'm not sure.

If anyone has any information or ideas as to where I could look for information on the event, I'd be very grateful.

Hiya Mary,

The librarians at Armagh Library are very helpful. Why not send them an email asking if they have some information on the hanging of the postman? A surname would have been helpful but I don't think there
were too many hangings in Ireland. As far as I'm aware the public hangman travelled over from England.

All the Best, Christopher
