Is there alternative spelling to Jowsey, for example Joycey? or Joice or Joicey.

Seems to be some variations out there within the same families.

1881 Census
Piece:   5082
Folio:   36
Page Number:   20

Ellen Joicey b1832 staying in the Batt Hotel (Bath Terr.,Tynemouth) with Edward Joicey born Newcastle 1866 (15yrs). She is listed as an "Annuitant".

A long shot but worth looking at

Hi Richard,

Yes, Jowsey is often spelt in all sort of different ways :-)  I think as you say its probably a long shot, but thank you for looking and as I have nothing else, I will definately have a look into this entry !!
