Hamlet Road, Brymbo

Like Gadget Ive had a look at a few maps.

On the 1861 the sequence of addresses is Lodge, Hamlet Road, Llanrafon, Glanrafon, College, Broughton Hall(?), Tai Hirion,, ....rwd (unclear), Brymbo Hall

I can find those listed in bold on an 1872 map available via "maps.nls.uk" but have found it impossible to post the full URL that would take you direct to that screen.

Will send a PM to explain the "long way" to find the appropriate map unless someone more computer literate in the meantime can post the URL.

By following the places listed on the map it might provide a rough idea of the location of Hamlet Road.

If you see at bottom left of map there's a tab saying something like 'add location to url ' . Click on that and a new address will be shown in the address bar - ends with a BT. Copy that ans you should be able to post the link here.

Thanks everyone.  I now have rough idea where Hamlet Road was and realise I must have walked up it lots of times as a youngster being a Southsea lad.  I can now take the two ladies so they can see where the family lived back then.  I hope they won't be disappointed.

I use the "maps.nls" site almost daily yet had totally failed to appreciate the presence of the "Add URL" button - simplicity itself.
